Is your home in need of a furnace repair, a new furnace, or furnace service? Kulk’s Plumbing & Heating can help!
The majority of North American households depend on a furnace as their home’s heat source making furnace maintenance, and furnace repair key. A furnace works by blowing heated air through ducts that carry the warm air to the rooms within your home. This type of heating is referred to as ducted warm-air or force warm-air distribution system. A furnace works when fuel is mixed with air and burned.
Some common furnace problems that will require furnace repair are:
- Lack of maintenance
- Dirty furnace filters
- Wear and tear
- Electrical or pilot control problems
- Malfunctioning thermostat
- Not heating at all
- Not heating enough
- Frequent cycling
- Continuously running blower
- Very noisy
When looking at your home furnace, you will most likely have a gas furnace, or electric furnace, or in some cases (less likely) a propane furnace. A thermostat setting will signal to a gas furnace that it needs heat. At this time, an igniter activates the gas-powered burners creating heat in a combustion chamber. Whereas, with an electric furnace there is a cabinet that contains an array of heating elements with sets of electric coils that burn hot when current runs through them.
If your existing furnace is broken beyond repair and furnace repair services won’t cut it, we can assist in furnace replacement. If your furnace is more than 15-20 years old, this is probably a good indication that you will need furnace replacement, depending on its condition and functionality. If furnace repair is becoming much more frequent, it may be time to ask about new furnace cost vs. increased maintenance costs to see if furnace replacement is a better option. Kulk’s Plumbing & Heating can service, replace, or repair you house furnace.
